Hi, I’m Elizabeth—the human behind Proper Purrs.

Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and they have a way of working themselves into everything I do. Proper Purrs grew out of that love, along with my belief that pets deserve calm, thoughtful care from someone who genuinely enjoys being around them.

These days, my little crew keeps me supervised and life interesting in all the best ways. They inspire me, make me laugh, and remind me daily that the simple things really are the most important.

Proper Purrs is about trust, comfort, and showing up with a full heart. Whether I’m caring for your cat, writing a new cookbook, or dreaming up what’s next, my goal is always the same: to make life a little better for pets and the people who love them.

This Isn’t My First Rodeo!

Proper Purrs isn’t actually my first pet-sitting adventure.

Years ago, I had a pet-sitting business and spent my days doing something I truly loved—caring for animals and giving their people the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone dependable was looking after them.

Life changed, and what I thought might be a temporary pause became a much longer one. But some things have a way of finding their way back to you.

After all these years, I’ve come back to something that always made me happy: taking care of animals—especially cats who are happiest staying in the comfort of their own homes.

It feels awfully good to be back. ♥
